One of the big problems with an outdoor hobby
that involves glass is dew.  If you can raise the
temperature on your objective lens, finder, and
eyepieces by a degree or two, then the dew
problem can be delayed; this is not a cure-all
--but it sure helps.  I found these instructions
for building a heater strip using parallel
resisters on the Internet.  Click

Okay, my scope came with some pretty
cheap looking small, black, plastic focus
knobs. I found these at a hobby store for
$7.00 a pair and glued them on.
They are tire rims for an RC car.  Above to
the right shows a glued on  vacuum
cleaner belt for the grip. (Talk about
cheap)
This is a 6 x 30 finder scope that I
bought for $7.00. I removed the plastic
lens and replaced it with the objective
lens from an old pair of binoculars.
Surprisingly, it works really well.

Here is my homemade dolly with
wheel locks. The wheels are
locked and placed on anti-vibration
suppression pads. I also
constructed an extra shelf  for
tripod stability and to hold the AC
power strip. More about the shelf
and power strip can be found on
the mount page or click
Here.
