Step 1.Open Filters, Extract

Step 2. Your image is now
opened in the extract window
Step3Trace the edge of the puppy
making sure their are no open gaps
Step 4.Use the paint bucket to fill the area
you want to extract. Your image should look
like this.
Now select preview

STEP 5. Here's your preview. If you wish, you can use your
Eraser tool and  cleanup tool and edge cleanup tools.
However, you will still be able to do the same thing in later
steps. Normally, from here I just move on. ....Select OK
Step 6. Now we are back on our
Photoshop stage ready for clean up

Steps 7-8. Us the easer tool to clean
up the edges. (Step 7)
Use the "history brush tool" to restore
any lost parts of the puppy. (Step 8).

TIP:.. I tend to go a little outside the image to make
sure I have it all. Then go back with the easer.

Step 10. Select the move tool and drag it to your
image of choice or colored background.

Step 11. We can still clean up the
edges if need be with the easer tool.
TIP: ..With a small brush, use the blur
tool around your edges to give it a soft
rounded look.

make adjustments to
color and saturation.
To help it blend in
with the background
image.
This is the perfect tool for
making precise cut outs
and extracting detailed
objects that are way too
demanding for the lasso
tools. The extracting tool is
also more forgiving and
allows you to continue to
make changes until you
flatten/merge the layers.
